Just curious as to what everybodys favorite turkey load is? I just bought a new xtrema2 and need to start patterning some 3-1/2s for it next weekend.

Winchester Double X Magnum Turkey Loads , 12 ga. 3 1/2" , 2 1/4 oz. #5 !!! Take note of the 2 1/4 oz.... most of the 3 1/2" loads WallyWorld stocks are the 2oz variety.

I've got a Mossberg 835 and I get better patterns out of Winchester Supreme 3 inch # 6s than anything else I have tried. Plus, they're somewhat easier on the shoulder, but still wicked.

Without a doubt, Hevi-Shot. I'll never shoot lead at a turkey again. My gun likes Hevi-Shot 3inch #5 in the 1 5/8oz, 1 3/4, or 1 1/2.
I killed one turkey with Winchester Supreme 2 1/4oz in 3.5inch and wasn't impressed. The 3inch #5 1 3/4oz shot 10x better in my gun. Then I switched to Hevi-Shot and never looked back.
Hevi-Shot is definitely superior of lead, the NWTF Still Shot Championship Winners are proof of that.

1.75 oz winchester 3", #6 shot, heavy shot patterend low and right in my 870 special field so I stuck with the winchesters, they shoot a great pattern at 40 yds with a .655 choke, longest kill was 52 paces

Sent someone after some shells last year and they brought back the wrong kind. Good thing, too. The Remington Nitro Turkey loads patterned better in my 835 than what I had asked for! (Cheaper too!)
I shoot 3 1/2", 2oz, 6's out of a Kicks Choke thats stuck in a SBE II. Works for me.

My 870 shoots a Win. Sup. 3-inch, 2-ounce load of 6's the best (those are a little hard to find now). That's what I logged my farthest-ever kill with. It was a fall hen, on the wing, and I won't say how far it was.
My Browning Gold shoots a 3-inch 1 7/8 Win Sup. load of 4s the best. That's what I hunt with most of the time.

For an Extrema there is only one choice.....Nitro triplex of 4X5X7's with a .660 Rhino Tube......You can expect a pattern the size of a baseball at 20 yards and about 280-300 shot in a 10 inch circle at 40......
If someone can come up with somethin better let me know.....These shells aint cheap......

scroll down the page and find the Berretta Extrema.....
Oh and one other thing.....You can buy the tubes and shells at Uncle Lee's.....and thats a good thing!

When I first started turkey hunting about 12 years ago, there was a shell made by Active called Impulse. They had a shell that was a mix of 4s and 6s. Deadliest turkey load I ever used, but I haven't seen them sold for a few years.

I have always been a fan of Rem. duplex shells 4+6 mixed 3'' shells myself.Hard to find but worth it.Shots as good or better than most shell and has more nock down with the 4 shot missed in.
