Dang it, Pooge!!!! You done went and stole my record collection! Two others I listen to alot--Chris Thile and Nickel Creek. And Sam Bush, of course, along with Jerry Douglas and any entertainer they happen to be playing with. Thile is backed up on his latest solo album by Bela and Douglas. Right good, but it ain't neccesarily bluegrass.

King and Assorted Blues Artists, some Haggard, the McKamey's, Clapton, Leann Rimes, O'brother, Keith Whitley, Creed and Charlie Sizemore. Give that one to a shrink and see if they can figure it out.
You want GOOD music, listen to Chris before Nickel Creek. Leading Off and Stealing Second, his first two albums, worked up with Sam Bush.

Yeah Dan Crary...I've still got a Dan Crary tape in my car. Instrumentals on that Mossman guitar he had. Man that thing had a ring to it. I was staying at the Galt House in Louisville back when they had the KFC festival on the bellvedere and came down to the lobby for something one night about midnight and Dan Crary was sitting on the couch playing that Mossman and I just kicked back and listened to him for a while, I actually picked up a few licks from Across the Big Sandy and Gold Rush that I can still play today. Does anybody know what happened to him. I know he was from California but I haven't heard anything about him for a while.

I'm pretty flexible, but no RAP or country for me.
I would never have believed I could do a search on the web and find hits for Eric Johnson, Steven Vai, let alone Yngwie on Kentuckyhunting.com.
I have no problem listening to Hotel California one minute and Dave Mustaine belting out vocals the next. The next one might be Triumph followed by Bruce Dickinson at a couple of minutes to midnight. Who knows, maybe Ann and Nancy will then perform a little Barracuda just before Vince shouts at the devil. Is that really the goo goo dolls that are three doors down? Finally, who in their right mind would go from the piano man or clapton straight into Mother Love Bone...
Now that I go back and read what I just wrote, I can't be right...

I always enjoy a good guitar. Sometimes you have to ignore a lot of the other noise to pick it out!Of course everyone's definition of that is different, but up to this point I think most have agreed that "scratching" is not an instrument or type of noise we enjoy hearing. Hmmm, for some reason that last statement just reminded me of a scene in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Steve Martin and John Candy are sharing a bed in a hotel...

Perrymax,
I refer to that as "I'm in a bad mood, I've got a nosebleed" music. Very little of it in my collection, either.
Being an older guy, I have an expansive collection of vinyl, cassettes, CDs and even a few eight tracks. I'm also a music nut, and have played music since I was a kid. There isn't much I don't like, although I must say I don't find much attraction in hip-hop (although I do have a vinyl copy of "Rapper's Delight" and I'm a big fan of skank, a Carribean morph of reggae that actually was the wellspring of hip-hop). I don't have any Cher, Manilow, Michael Jackson or Kenny G, but I have several Sinatra albums. If you like obscure reggae, I have over two hundred reggae albums, and a bunch of other albums of other types of Carribean music.
In terms of instruments, I currently have a '63 sunburst Strat, a Taylor, a cheap Yamaha camp acoustic (which sounds very good indeed for a $200 guitar), and a Washburn F95 mandolin. Oh yeah--and a couple of harmonicas that I can't play worth a hoot. Over the years I've owned a Fender Jazz bass, an ES335, a Gretsch Tennessean, a Martin D-18 and a D-35, a Firebird Reverse, an SG, and a Les Paul Standard. I frequently kick myself in the butt for trading off several of those guitars, especially the D-18 and the Tennessean, which was a Chet model complete with padded back. At the time I traded it for the D-35, the Tennessean wasn't worth much. Boy, it ain't that way today!

I like reggae to.How about,Bob Marley's No Women No Cry.I guess that's not really pure reggae but that's a great song.I played some guitar myself. We even wrote several songs. We rented a Tascom 4 track,I think that's what it was, from Doo Wop.That cassette is allways pulled out after a few beers when my buddies come over!!I still have my first amp.I got it for Christmas about 1975.Fender Champ amp.It looks brand new.I played a Gibson 335 S Delux for years. It's a solid body in the shape of a ES-335.It had an ebony fingerboard and a nasty sound.Played it through a Music Man 212 and a Tube Screamer turned to 10.Playing music is like golf.If you want to be good you have to play all the time and put everything into it.I didn't have the time to be good at either.I'd rather farm and hunt.

CCR, Eagles, Aerosmith, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Goose Creek Smpthony, Gwen Wells, Jason Scott, Gretchen Wilson, Rob McNurlin, Deep Purple, one of my favorites John Mellencamp and you can always put on THE WALL. Crazy kind of guy ain't I. Just love good music from Bluegrass to Metal, not into RAP.

Well, I have an in-dash MP3 player, so I usually put several CD's on one, here is what is on the one in there now.
Pantera-Vulgar Display of Power
Rage Against the Machine - The Battle of Los Angeles
Mudvayne - L.D. 50
Slipknot - v3. The Subliminal Versus
Then a bunch of miscellaneous singles, mainly heavy heavy.
Don't much fit the profile of a hunter. :)
