HELP! Winchester question

Alright boys........

My buddy just called and said his granpa has a Winchester pump shotgun (circa. 1930/1940 - no joke) that he wants to sell/get a bead on the price.

Here is my question - When was the first model 12 made? If this is a early model 12 (12 gauge in great condition) what would a fair price/worth be?

They started making them in 1912, hence the Model 12.

You can find exact date by serial number look up.
