I was fortunate to witness an awesome turkey fight last season,I was working a big bird when this guy trying to sneak in from the side.When the big boy saw him he attacked and the fight was on!! After the bigger turkey kicked his butt and chased him off,he left too!! About an hour later and 200 yards away I managed to fire this guy up again and the rest is history.
Just amazed me that he would come in after this wounding,I wish they were all this hot!!! Great memory of an awesome hunt and I figured you would enjoy the pic!!

I think I've seen this picture somewhere before?!?! Very interesting bird. From the past picture I understand the wound is from the fight.

I posted the picture last year on the board,the injury is from a spur,the wound was deep enough to stick my thumb in to the joint. The birds fought for probably a minute and a half before the other bird pinned this guy to the ground and flogged him severely. This is only the second true fight I have ever seen and in both cases the winner chased the loser off and left me sitting in amazement. Makes you think about grabbing those spurs huh!!

did you teach that black paw to retrieve turkeys ,if so I need some advice,tired of carrying heavy birds.

Sorry guys,I realize this is the internet and no one wants to believe anything you say but the wound is from a SPUR!!!!!

Bird was killed with a 12 gauge ,if I killed it with a bow I would have told you believe me!! And naw the big lab only retrieves chicken!!

This is a little video of a one legged gobbler near my house in central PA..he was still alive a few weeks ago despite feet of hard snow and ice, coyotes, bears, bobcats and a few outlaws... amazin'

Well Sam I did bring him out on the wheeler,but I am a pretty good driver on this end of the state,it's them Eastern KY hills that get me in trouble!!!
