I went to the farm I hunt last nite, to reconfirm permission to hunt it. I wanted to check if I could muzzle load on it. I was told "yes"! I rode along the property, and saw 6 turkeys on the hill where I tried this spring.
I went muzzleloading this morning to no avail, but with the fog I saw 3 turkeys come right in to me today. 1 Nice tom. They saw me and flew off. I had another nice one a couples of minutes later within 30 yards. It killed me.
Even if I wasn't ethical (to say the least), I didn't think a 300 grain bullet would leave much of a turkey anyway!
Anyone see any this morning?
I also heard much clucking, and even some yelping. Isn't the yelping out of place this time of year?
Later, Mike

You probably heard the "lost yelp" that you hear frequently in the woods when the flock is busted up...I'll help you get one next weekend!

I'm Looking forward to it! Maybe we can both gt one!
Be sure to bring the blind, they seem to frequent the hill where we first set up with the blind. Near the single cedar tree.
I'll get with ya this week. See ya, Mike

I saw a bunch of turkeys all weekend in Washington co. deer hunting this weekend. I even jumped a tom while pulling my doe out, I couldn't believe it was still there.
