Just ordered a purdy custom call for my dad to give him on opening day in Georgia. Just wondered if you guys had ever used his calls. Sent Purdy a tail pin feather from my first Gobbler for the mount. Heres a pic of what hes doin. Also wondered what kind of sound change would that have on the call being mounted on the sound board. Not sure it matters much as its more of a showpeice gift and such im not sure dad will even use it. Actually kinda hoped he did though if it sounds good.

I'd get a little stand and put that one on the mantle. It looks like it a knockout. I'm sure it would sound fine, but you'd have to scratch it up to see. It looks like a show piece to me. If Purdy gives you a striker to go with it at least you could hunt with it. I have put felt tabs in the pot of some of my calls to tone them down when they are too harsh, so I would imagine it would still sound good with the feather.

Sounds good. Im glad ya dont think it will effect the sound much. Almost rather dad get to take it out and scratch her up some and bag a good one! But... ill let him decide. In fact Purdy may actually scratch it some himself as he said that he does tone test all of his calls. Whatever that is.
