The only advantage to the quota hunts use to be starting a few days early. Although I haven't hunted there for a few years, I think the quota hunts now run during the state wide season. It always seemed to me that there were fewer hunters in the regular season hunts than draw hunts anyway.Tom

You're right threetoes and that is why I've not applied for the past several years at LBL. I didn't see the point of driving 4 hours for a quota hunt that was on one of the same weekends as the state hunt and still have to use one of my two state tags. I have plenty of turkeys right here at home and I don't have to waste all of that gas in order to hunt them. But I can guarantee that I will definately be out there during deer season. LBL is by far, one of my favorite places in the state to hunt.

This season at LBL....
Youth Hunt : March 31-April 1
General Quota : April 7 - 8
General Quota : April 12 - 13
Non-Quota : April 16 - 29 (14 days)
All the LBL Quota Turkey hunts were before the statewide season opening on April 14.

This year they were all before the statewide opener, but the last 2 years one of the quota hunts was conducted during the first part of the statewide season, which isn't attractive to most.

If their hunts are that way again next year, I will definitely apply. Good luck to anyone drawn this year.
