i have been experimenting with the 777 powder and the pellets. i have noticed that i have great difficulty seating my bullets after a couple of shots. it is nearly impossible to get the bullet past the fouling about 1 inch above where the bullet should seat. i know that if enough force is applied i can get the bullet past the fouling, but i also know i will crush the pellets. when i do shoot the gun in this condition i always get a high shot, as much as 9 inches at 50 yards. this is probably created by elevated pressure due to the fouling. has anyone else experienced this?

i shot regular pyrodex rs tonight, and with the power belt 245 grain bullets the gun shot great. no more fliers. i tried again with the 777 loose powder and pellets, and 2 shots and fouled. this to me is unacceptable.

the guns i am using are a tc black diamond, and a winchester x100. the same with both rifles...

i shot one shot, cleaned, shot, cleaned, and got respectable groups, but not what i would be compfortable with shooting beyond 50 yards. the pyrodex rs was great out to 150 yards.

This is not the first time I have heard of this problem. I used to exclusively use Pyrodex but it was too messy. Last year, I switched to CleanShot pellets (now know as American Pioneer powder sticks). I can shoot 20 times with less mess than I had after shooting once with Pyrodex. CleanShot leaves a thin powder residue that seems to make loading a bit easier for the first 10 shots or so. Try it & I'll bet you won't be sorry.

if a feller were so inclined to put his hands on some, where would he find it..my local shop doesnt carry it. if its not pyrodex or 777 its not available....
