i was looking for a good 22 pistol to use on the possoms in my yard using 22 shorts. a friend sold me his 62 winchester and it works well with shorts. it has original blueing on the barrel and tube and a nice patina on the action. it is as tight as new and been fired little , the barrel is bright and rifling and bore are excellent.it has some dings in the wood and some one put a screw thru the bottom tang screw hole and the top one.it is threaded on the front of the barrel in front of the sights.i assume for a silencer.the serial number is 4 didget in the 60 thousand range.

if there are any collectors of winchesters out there please help me find out if the threaded barrel is for a silencer and if the company did it. it looks to be a excellent job.id also like to know app. worth.

this is a 62 not a 62a. any questions please feel free to ask. im still looking for a good 22 revolver.

Since the 62s' were used as gallery guns, there's a chance that it belonged in a carnival once with a can on it. I've seen other gallery rifles with silencers on them. I highly dobut it was factory, but I could be wrong of course...

Prices on Gunbroker.com seem to be pretty strong.. anywhere from 400-2000.
