I am looking to buy a good squirrel rifle to toy around with. I looked on Dixie Gun works and found fairly good deals. Does anyone else use the .32 to hunt squirrel? If so what do I need to buy as far as Powder ETC.. how much do I use? Is 50gr too much or too little to use? What do you suggest?

5o is a bit much. I shoot 30. For 25 yd shots it should sound like a bad fire-cracker ppppppffffffftttttt. You can some times hear the ball hitting the target. Accurate as can be.

That small, use FFFG powder. Start with 1 grain of powder for every caliber of gun you've got (.32 cal = 32 grains). Start working up and down in 2-3 grain increments until until your 3 shot groups get the tightest. That's the powder charge your gun likes.

I shoot 30grs FFFG in a 36 cal....it reminds me mostly of a 22 Mag. Gotta shoot them in the head to have anything. A buddy uses a 32 and I think he shoots 20gr FFFG. Both do a good job on ground hogs.

Glad you checked out Dixie. I use 20 gr of FFF 777 with a Buffalo Bullet (they call it a ballette), Dixie has them. Easy to load, shoot good. The 777 cleans up with water as advertised. Good luck.
