Any of you all ever do any fishing below the spillway at Cave Run Lake?
I hear it talked about alot and thought I'd take the family out after turkey hntn this comeing Sat. and was wondering what to expect as far as what kind of fish we'd be getting into, may bluegill, crappie or even some trout? What about bait or any other tips, directions? Thanks

I haven't had a lot of luck fishing directly below the spillway...they just stocked trout in there so I am sure there's some to be had. Depending on the water level, my first try would be a minner and a floater with a tiny splitshot on. Go to where the boat entry is and fish that hole directly above it. The trout sometimes lay in that hole of water just above the cement boat entry. Try leading your minnow about 3 - 4 foot below your floater and cast upstream and let it drift down. I've seen musky, catfish, bluegill, smallmouth and trout caught out of there - never know what you will hook into.

Best luck
