Come on guys, you all never seem to suprize me. I mean the mods have been on a bannding streak here lately. I dont know what everyone has done but gosh there is 2 just right off my head in the past few days. I dont understand it all, Multidigits has 15,000 + post and he gets banned. The only thing i see he did was made a post in the contest for photo shoped thread and his address was post hole KY, I dont know if that got him banned or what but come on 15,000 post???
As you can tell I dont post much on here, and for 2 reasons.
1 used to when you posted somethin someoine didnt liked you was bashed.
2 Now if you post something the mods dont like you are banned or the post is deleted.
Im sure you have some reasons you banned the 2, but im also sure there was alot worst going on here then a post hole. anyways this is my 2 cents, and im ready to take what ever im going to get from this. I do have to say one more thing though. Yes i am fussing about the mods here, but I also want to thank them for watching over this and takeing care of real bussiness we have on here.
If you mods dont want to post your responce out loud please feel free to pm me then.

Folks, # of posts has no bearing on whether someone receives infractions or not. What you post does. It's totally up to you as to whether you receive an infraction. We don't type it out for you. That being said, there could be 20 bans tomorrow or none. It's all up to the guys posting here.

The mod's have a job to do. If you don't like the job their doing send chad a message expressing your dislike. I for one can't imagine how hard their job is. We as a hunting community can't agree on anything from where to hunt, how to hunt, or what to hunt with and the mod's have to make it all civil for the veiwing public. Not to mention the communist forum(community forum) where everyone goes to voice their opinion.

Thats just the way it is. A pulic forum is *NOT* a democracy. Im a mod on two other forums and one is waaayyy bigger than this one. Play by the rules or not at all. Sometimes the rules suck but thats just the way it is I guess. Though sometimes I will say that people break the rules and dont realize it or some Mods make up their own rules as they go. Not saying thats the case here but it happens plenty in places I have been.

I think that alot of us are saying it in a constructive way. While I know there are rules to abide by, it seems like some mods are taking it a little far. There certainly have been some post and threads erased, and locked that were not against any forum rules.
I know that since the forum added one big group of mods, that at least one mod has gone overboard. Alot of guys are complaining about it in a constructive way,and I think their concerns should be taken seriously instead of being told to take a hike.

There are as of right now (and growing) 6,431 members here, no way to expect that everyone IS going to agree on everything.......MOST are hunters and will agree on some things......with some CIVIL debate, often people can come together, but they have to have a chance......just a thought :)
How about this??
So long as there is NO name calling, personal insults or attacks, let people post per the posted rules, as has always been the case for as long as I have been here????? NO deleting of relevant posts.......etc....
How about trying that (it worked for years btw) ;)

Ace, all posts off topic to the "Now that the dust has settled thread" were deleted. It wasn't a debate on crossbows, that has been done many times over already. It was a question, "How did crossbows affect you this hunting season."
I think the mods do a good job here. There's a good mix of involvment and enforcement.. I think w/out a doubt the mods do a far better job here than they did just a couple of years ago. I'm on some other forums that are really bad as far as moderators and filters go.. Sometimes here, things happen so fast that people get in trouble and are punished before most ever even see what caused it all.
IMO, there's a handful of guys here that are hung up on a couple of pointless issues and no matter what the rules are or how many times you slap them on the wrist, they will do it again. The internet will make otherwise mature men act a little funny at times.:D

dont know what happened, none of my buissness, but really you have to look at it this way.WE ARE ALL GUESTS HERE.uncle lee's or nobody else HAVE to sponsor a site for all of us to vent or B.S the day away.if he messed up he'd probably be the first to own up to it.
The Moderators on this site are not going into detail as to why anyone receives a Warning, Infraction or Ban of a poster. Those are discussed with the people that receives them and YES, some have been withdrawn.
These are not going to be opened for topic here. For everyones info there have been probably 50 people Banned this month alone, most all were spammers. That is just another of the "fun" things we get to keep track of.
As for why some threads look like a train wreck before we clean them? Every Mod here has a real life they participate in along with a real job. Many threads do not get read for a day or so, also some require the taking of a handful of asprin before reading.
Deletion of posts? It is impossible to send a PM to everyone that has a post deleted. Actually' the majority of posts deleted are the ones that say, "Pm Sent", in classified section. Seems people are not reading the PMs anyway or that post wouldn't be necessary!? In this past week there was a comment about "Sticky's" being numerous. The Sticky in the Classified section says, "NO PM SENT posts". But as we just covered, this is still one of the big remove items.
PM's. While a PM is an interaction between two people, the PM should NOT contain language that threatens another. Also it does not do a lot of good for your case to contain language that says, "I don't give a **** that it IS against State Law, it is none of your **** business". Just thought you all might like to see the other side of the coin.

Yes, I can understand that, but even though it's "been done to death" for most of us, there are new members and since we had KY data from the new expanded season, that has changed the whole deal IMHO..
It just seems to "me" some good civil debate doesn't harm anyone, those who don't care won't even read them. Just look at the view count on that thread. :)
Soon things will slow way down, (or they usually do in years past), it just doesn't make much sense "to me" to have a crossbow forum where crossbows can't be discussed...

6+ months ago there was a call to the moderators to lock out all of the debate in the crossbow forum... none, zip, nada... along with requests to ban repeat offenders on the spot for intrusions into it. The crossbow forum was supposed to be "a place for enthusiasts with an interest in crossbows to discuss them and their usage without being badgered" per the requests.
Now we are supposed to allow it?
Being in this position is a lose/lose proposition.

With all due respect there sure is! We have Ky data now, we had an expanded season that was not a harm to the resources. It's important to remember this wasn't my idea, or the other pro crossbow poster's idea either, it was the KDFWR's idea, and it went just as they said it would. Before all of this, every single "debate" was centered on "what if".....now the data is there, it's Ky data, and it's positive data at that. I'd say that changes "everything" :)

I remember that well, and the real problem was a few who don't even hunt in Ky and admitted they probably never would coming in there to "stir the pot" even after the expansion was a done deal.
There was nothing positive coming from that and never would have been. IF they can't respect Ky hunters any more than that, making us all look foolish they don't need to be here imho.
I understand your point (and the frustration), but I'd like to try discussing the expanded season, the harvest results and our first Ky data etc. in a civil manner. Though that thread did get off topic, it was mainly because some newer members here were asking I believe honest questions, and I did all that I could to keep it civil and factual. :) I felt there was some very good and useful information there for those who weren't sure, to think on.
I'd guess the Dept will at some time soon expand further with the information and KY data that they now have to go on. I'd like for when that happens it not be like it was the first two time they tried it.
I realize it's not for me to say either way, I am just asking... :)

What is wrong with a thread wandering off topic? Conversation is dynamic. It isn't a straight highway, there are curves. Curves are what lets the conversation bring in all aspects of the original subject and lead to further discussion. H**k, if all the discussion on a thread was " Do you really like to deer hunt?" the answering posts would be "yes" and "no". According to some of the moderators that means the subject is now closed. I don't get it.

If i were a mod, I'd lock this thread.;) :D
Any regular here should know what to expect by now and what it takes to get into trouble, and what it takes to stay out of trouble, especially if you've been called out before.. I feel the same way, if a topic goes "off topic" so what:confused:. That is what makes for good conversation. And saying that there is no more debate for crossbows is absurd. The whole x-bow thing is just getting started from where I stand. People are rallying together to get the season extended through-out archery season, and they should be heard. There is always room for debate with anything. Just like you guys who want to send the start of archery season back to OCT. 1st. I will argue with you on that subject all day long. And there isn't anything wrong with that as long as it doesn't come to personal attacks.
On a side note, I am a MOD on another hunting forum, and we don't have near the discussion about subjects over there, and quite frankly, it makes for some boring conversation sometimes:D. But we don't get near the traffic over there either.

I agree, there's enough deer and turkey for us all. Any legal method is ok with me. Now the debate is whether a crossbow is or should be a legal method and when. It won't go away just because we are sick of hearing from both sides. I don't think you can limit crossbow talk to just the crossbow section of this forum. If you do that then we have to have every section policed and cleaned up for content. If we don't want to talk about xbows then let's move on to the next thread and by-pass those that talk about crossbows, or trapping, or grouse hunting. But what do i know, I already have 4 demerits or points or whatever.

There are many people here who seem to feel that way; regardless of how they felt prior to the expanded-split-season. Now the new KY data is available and they have something to use to gauge it with..
Some though I believe see the word CB (I won't type it ) :) and run to the mods and want it locked, deleted, the poster beheaded and on and on ... :D :D
And no Art, I've said all along there were more hunters in Ky who didn't care either way....Most hunters I know couldn't care less what another hunter archery hunts with, I think being "obsessed" with another's choice is harmful to the whole hunting community, and a bit foolish......I hunt MY way, you hunt YOURS.....how I've always felt, still do .(which IS why I support expansion)
WE never tried to keep it a secret after being stuck with the "split season" we made it very clear ( I thought) that it was not over, this is simply "round two", now after this one, it may be over with for good (and I honestly hope that it is) :) that however will not be up to us....

You can hunt around post holes with a crossbow, I know this, but you have to be very careful where you step. However the selling of postholes could be grounds for banishment. When it comes to post holes you really have to do the research, they can be tricky.
