One of my buddies was walking to his stand last Sat. and he seen 11 coyotes in one pack. He said they were all yotes and no coydogs. Four of us went yesterday morning and tried to call a few up but none came in. We'll try it again soon.

The coyotes you saw were probally disperced pups from different packs, that haven`t established their own territories yet! Remember to start calling low; in case the`re close so, as not to spook them.Keep the wind to your face, and the sun to your back;and if you kill one, just sit still for a minute and use a distress yelp or,start calling again.Being young and immature, your chances of taking mutiples are pretty high! Coyote barking works good for these situations.

Guys I am a native of Edmonson County and have worked as a LE Ranger at Mammoth Cave for over 12 years. Believe me when I say that the idea that the Park Service or the KY F&W introduced coyotes to the area is BS! I realize I probably don't have to even say it, but these stories have been going around for so long and are really getting old [:(!]. I used to get a good laugh out of it but now it just annoys me [xx(]! The coyotes are as much a pain the in the rear for us here at the Park as they are in other areas of the state. They are natural born scavengers and very good at it. We have problems with them in the campgrounds and parking areas and other areas where people leave their scraps. I can remember when I was younger (Barely) and the first coyotes started turning-up in the area. I never thought I would ever see one in this neck-of-the-woods. Now they are an accepted piece of the landscape.
Safe Hunting,
Ranger Dave
