I love to catch bluegills, for their size they would have
to be the fightness fish in fesh water.I usally use
pop-eye and wax worm bouncing on the bottom, this is a
good producer when you find them.Like too hear some of
the ways everybody else fish for them.

A friend and I went fishing the other day for some Bluegills, and caught a few. You're right they do fight. I like to use red worms and a bobber.

I love them and try to keep the freezer well stocked. I'll catch them any way I can legally. But my favorite way is with my 4 weight fly rod, a 10' tippet and a # 16 slug in lime green. They are serious about that lime green slug.

I caught a couple tonight and I have to say that when they are big, they put on a pretty good show. I sure do love catching them, even when I am not trying to. It makes me feel good knowing I can atleast catch a bluegill.

Hey guys,
We fished wigreen lake a couple days ago and caught
a good mess of bluegills, five over 10inchs.I'd say
this cold snap will shut them down for a few days.
What lakes do you fish for bluegills?

Crickets,Crickets and more Crickets the boys in Flordia call them bugs. If you like to gill fish you must go to west Flordia biggest gill I every seen. They shocked Paintsville Lake two weeks ago and the big gill were coming up then. I know your not going to bilieve this but here we go I saw a 7lb. 9oz. gill mounted in Flordia and have a picture to prove it. At that time the last 5 world records had come out of that pond. It's in west Flordia (Mariana) at a place call the mill pond. We were there for 10 days and cough several pound to a pound and a half gill. I knew you wouldn't beleive it.

Looks like the Bluegills are on in my area. I went saturday for about 4 hours and caught 50. There were nest all up and down the banks. My two friends went to the next lake over and caught 124 nice Blues. They're running about two weeks early this year. They're usually not nesting hot & heavy till the 4th week of May. I caught mine on pieces of night crawlers(they go along ways) by the combination of bobber or just hop dragging it on the bottom through thier nest. Believe me I was wore out filleting them jokers, but I'm ready to go again.
