My hunting buddies and I recently leased 230acres
of land to hunt on.The guy wanted to lease because
so many hunters are trespassing on him.How do we
go about legaly posting the land and what rights
do we have to stop trespassing?

i think because you leased it youre within your legal right to post it.check with the land owner and see how he feels about it.just my opinion but if you lease a house and someone breaks in,dont you have a legal right to do something about it?

Spurrs why did you and your buddies have to lease a place to hunt?

Spurrs:
I believe it would depend on how the lease is worded between you and the landowner.

Thanks guys for the replies.
Birdman,The guys i hunt with and i would really like too
improve the deer herd in our area, there's plenty of deer
but the quality is lacking. The farm we own,a few years
had some deer and turkey but since we started the food
plots and managing the herd.i.e. taking does the herd is
larger the bucks are growing bigger racks the doe i took
last year field dressed at 120lbs,which i feel is great
for a doe.The chance to do the same on a larger place
should be a good challenge for us.I've checked a few law
books and found that too be posted land the signs should
be no more than 50yds apart, and an ad should be ran in
local paper to notify the public that the farm is now
posted nohunting no tresspassing.Sure there's land a
man can hunt for free,it's just the reward of what alittle
hard work can do in just a few years.
