Marty, if you and Jeff have any real aspirations for a bull tag in the immediate future, think Colorado! Obviously, at this stage the hunting is not nearly as good as Kentucky, but it is the only state that I know of in which we can plan a bull hunt for this fall, and be guaranteed an opportunity to hunt somewhere. I'm talking about a reasonable cost deal, of course. You can always find a hunt just about anywhere, including Kentucky, if you have deep enough pockets.

He's not a 400" but he should break the 360" n-t pretty easy. He won't be officially scored until the 19th. I'll try to give a update on him then. Highbow, if you get up this way, give me a call. This bull is worth seeing in person.

I saw the rack yesterday when we picked up James' elk mount from Sam. All I can say is "Oh My!", that thing was huge. Also, Sam did one heck of a job on James' elk. His work is top notch and well worth the trip to Wayland. I'm a three hour drive from Wayland and I would consider driving down there just for Sam's taxidermy work. James is still smiling this morning.
Sam,
Thanks for all that you have done for making the 2006-2007 hunting season a true lasting memory for me and my family. I sure hope I need to call you later this year when the 2007 elk tags are drawn.

It was truly a huge beast. However, a trophy is in the eye of the beholder. I have cleaned up the skull of my cow, removed the ivories for jewelry, and will put in on the wall between my two skull mounted bulls. It don't have to be B & C to accomplish what a trophy is supposed to, that is, to continue memories of a wonderful hunt. My hunt is Wayland was every bit as good as any other that I have ever been on. That's what my cow skull will continue to remind me of. And, she sure do eat good!

Sam, If I get a chance I'll try and give you a call before coming up. I have scored several bucks this season and laid the tape to several bull's that were brought into my buddies shop. He sure had some nice ones from east KY this year too.
