I hadn't posted many pics lately, too busy hunting....

My back yard, this is a "gost image" shot done by setting the shutter speed to 10 seconds, self timer, sit motionless for 5 seconds then rapidly exit the frame.

I grew up fishing from these "white rocks", my dad caught a 39" musky in 1960 from a water willow weedbed at my feet. I've spent countless hours catching catfish and drum here, even trapped numerous 'rats and 'coons.

Whether I'm part of the river, or the river part of me, no doubt it kept me out of trouble, and helped me become me, I'm thankful that I had that chance and will always be a "river rat".

From one river rat to another, a great big Thank You for sharing the photos, and for sharing the memories.

Here's my special rock on the river. Mines probably a few miles upstream from yours though:

Another river scene. This one is of the Jolly Bridge over the Big Marco River. Spent half a day and a quart of good rum trying to find the pot of gold at either end.

Great pictures as always CSS and others.

I didn't have a river to call my own, just a creek.
Did find a lake at the end of another creek.

Rick, how long did you have to wait to for the water to become that calm? That's a heck of a shot, as are all the others. Makes me want to buy one of those new-fangled digital cameras....or start taking black and white again!

Have you ever fished there? I have always wanted to make a trip there just to see it and do a little fishing. I'm not too far from there.

Never fished there. It's close to our farm and the land that I hunt on. Not very far from peabody.

Rick, how long did you have to wait to for the water to become that calm?

It took me 47 years! That is what that place looked like the first and only time I ever saw that piece of Earth. We were out looking for a lost bird dog and I stumbled across it.

This is one of my favorite pics so far. I took it this past weekend, it is my inlaws back yard in Scott Co.
