Well, ive always wanted one of these, never really had the money for one so i said to hell with it and built my own, may not be perfect to anyone else but i couldnt be happier with it.

NO nails or screws in the whole thing, very little wood glue only in the main side posts.

Worked wiht a table saw, drill, paint scraper, and rubber mallet.

I think it's beautiful! I'd rather have that than something too expensive and probably not made with love!

I never thought of building a fence to keep the kids out of the sink and off the stove! ;)

Just kidding, looks great! I have wanted to try my hand at that as well. The hardest part seems to be finding the right pieces of wood to make it.

Nice job! I doubt I would have the skills to get all of those holes lined up correctly. Excellent.

What kind of wood did you use?
I have seen where you can buy the auger bits to make that kind of furniture. Did you use wood that has been dried? I'd like to make patio furniture like that. Nice job.

it has almost all dried out, still somewhat sappy, im gonna let it sit inside for a few weeks and keep a space heater on it to try and trydraw out all that sap...i just used regular old pattle bits from wal mart, 13 bucks for 12 of em i believe. Im working on nightstands now.

That looks as good as some of that "Amish Crafted" furniture I seen selling for hundreds of dollars. You ought to try to sell some.

nice job man. i love that rustic stuff, and all these people from out of state with getaway cabins here seem to love it too. every house we build for out of towners is always rustic like that. I'd say you could sure sell em.

i'm not sure on the prices but i'll ask my boss tommorow. he just had some custom handrails like that made for a house and he said that the company would make beds and nightstands too. I'll check and see what he has to say..
