day but Dad had just retired and just started to injoy
Life more because he did not have to work any more
and got to spend more time with his Wife of 46yrs

Been there. My Mom passed in Aug 2001 & xmass was just so different. Everyone tried to put on thier happy faces, but it was a lame effort. Bit in time, each Xmass will get easier.

Pearson, it may be hard but just think of all those special times together and the fact your mom and family wants and needs you more now than ever. I lost my dad in 1995 to cancer, it has never been the same since . I think of him a lot this day and how it would be to have him with us again. I hope you can find peace in your heart today.

I know what you are going through. I buried my father 3 years ago on x-mas eve, and my daughter last September. It is a very difficult time but he is watching over you and yours.
I never hit the field without carring a hunting pic of me and my dad with me. I can't tell you how many times that I pull out the pic while I am out hunting and look at it and talk to him, It always brings back alot of memories.

My dad passed away 4 years ago so I can understand the pain. The first holidays are always the hardest.

I lost my dad 3 years ago at 57 to cancer.

It's still hard on all of us. Mom just called a few minutes ago and is pretty down this morning.

You just have to remember that they are still with us every step of the way and the Christmas they're having right now is far better than anything we can ever imagine.

just try to remember the times that you shared with him. I lost my dad when I was 14. he had barely turned 44. Never had thought about it till I read this post, but I cannot remember a christmas with him.:( makes me sad now to think about it. god bless you in your time of sadness. Merry Christmas to you all. I just had a thought, my dad gets to spend Christmas with Jesus himself. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i know the feeling all to well in recent years i have lost my grandmothers ,grandfather ,father and lost my mother back in the early 80's
we ask why..and seems many questions go unanswered at the moment but there have got to be reasons..

even though in my case its been years for some their memories are as vibrant, and delightful as during the years i enjoy my time with them..

god bless you and your family during these hard times

I know what your going thru..
My father passed away when I was 9
Dec 23 and was buired Dec 25.
Christmas hasn't been the same since.. Seems like the older I get the worse it is.. I see how much I missed out with him....
I saw this on a web site that has helped me deal with it a little easier.... I hope it helps
God Bless You

I'M SPENDING CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST THIS YEAR
(Author unknown)

I see the countless Christmas trees,
Around the world below
With tiny lights, like heaven's stars,
Reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular,
Please wipe away that tear,
For I'm spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs
That people hold so dear.
But the sounds of music can't compare
With the Christmas choir up here.
For I have no words to tell you,
The joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description
To hear an angel sing.
I can't tell you of the splendor,
Or the peace here in this place.
Can you just imagine Christmas
With our Savior face to face?
I'll ask Him to light your spirit,
As I tell Him of your love.
So then pray one for another
As you lift your eyes above.
Please let your heart be joyful,
And let your spirit sing,
For I'm spending Christmas in heaven
And I'm walking with the King!

This sure makes me thankful that I still have my father. I feel really sorry for you and it makes me appreciate what time I do have with him.
