Question about elk?

I was hunting around the raven area this wkend and would like to know if you have to elk call to kill a female? I thought i heard some bugling around above me and thought maybe it might be someone calling....

Nope that bugle you heard was a Bull they still get fired up ocasionally...

Spot and stalk seems to be the name of the game during late season cow hunting. Call to fine tune for the high percentage shot when you close the distance.
