I found out this morning that a hatchery near Camp Carrolson is let'in lose a mess of trout today. This weekend should be productive so I'm going to head down there. I'll let you guys know how I do. If any one is thinkin' of headin down there the best place to go, I've been told, is up river a bit from the lake.

I've fished there many times and believe me there are some monster trout down there. All i use is Galic cheese.

Where exactly is this area that you are talking about? I have been wanting to do some trout fishing down there, but didn't know where it was or how to get there.

The release site is on Otter Creek, up stream a bit from Hwy. 60/Camp Caralson area. Some of the trout will go up stream, but mos will stay in the pole behind the house at the release area. All of the trout will be 1 year olds raised from fingerlings, unless a few escaped being forced out of the pool last year. This always happens to a few, and those fish will be good size, maybe 2-3 lbs. I've heard of some bigger being caught but it is rare.
To get there, you travel Hwy. 60 from 31W towards Irvington. Turn left before the overpass on Pinwheel Rd. Merge onto PinWheel, going to the left. Turn right on the first gravel road and go to the end.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask you.....is that area on Ft. Knox property, or is it on the Park property. I was wondering because if it was then I'd have to get a Ft Knox fishing permit.

You'll have to get a post permit to fish there.
