Most of the people in this country really does not understand the scope of the war yet . A quote from a muslim leader in London, England
"If LONDON falls then the WEST falls .And we have the men and the money to take it . "
We fought the COLD WAR for 40 years againist communism . If we dont have the same resolve now , then if you dont fight them over there you will fight them over here.
This might not bother you if you dont mind deigning Christ as the Son of God .And bowing down to pray toward Mecca. Because that is what they a really after . Dont be fooled into believeing they will leave us alone if we leave Iraq, remember who attacked who first . Remeber how muslims all over the Middle East rejoiced over dead Americans .
I dont want to be a gloom and doom guy, but better that we aspect it, and be ready .

Oh yes , but I dont think either party is taking the threat of Islamic goals seriously enough . They are right now warring around the world . Philippines , Spain , England ,the continent of Africa

Dangermouse I certainly take the threat seriously and I know what thier goals are. I also know that as long as we stay in Iraq then we will have to fight a war against terrorists, sadamm loyalists, sheites who hate sunnis, sunnis who hate that they lost power. I think that most of the "terrorists" we are fighting in Iraq see themselves as defending their country. Do you really think that most of those terrorists in Iraq are foreigners?
I support our troops and will until the day I die. But if a politician screws up and gets men and women killed because of a lie (wmd's) and then continues to cost American lives in trying to rebuild a country that is embroiled in a civil war, then that politician no longer has my support. I agreed with Pres. Bush when we went into Iraq. I believed him when he said "we are not into nation building". Then I watched as he said we must bring democracy to Iraq and some of us must die to do it. Why? It isn't to keep the terrorists away from America. Heck they, the terrorists, love having us in Iraq. We are slower to confront them elsewhere while bogged down there. And it makes a great training ground for them.

I think we fight them there or here . I dont have to tell you which is better .
Yah , we went in for WMD , the wrong reasons , but its still the right move .
Dont kid yourself the terrorists dont want to fight us there , they want us here till they are ready .
If was left up to me, the Isrealis and us would already have a air strike plan for Iran . I hope to God they do . Next time it might not be 3000 dead . It might be 3,000,000 .
Our fathers in WWII would not hesitate , maybe my military experience has made me paranoid , but hope for the best , prepare for the worst.

The cold hard truth hurts sometimes. There's no doubt the bad guys liked the way the election went and there's no doubt the death of the west is probably inevitable. We just don't need to help it along by voting foolishly.

Who really cares what the terrorists want? I don't! When we base any desicion we make on what any group wants, they really have beaten us!
Thank God we have never done that, or instead of having coffee and doughnuts we would have tea and crumpets! Or worse yet,our national language would be german or japanese! Thank goodness for independant thinkers in America!

Well, all I can say is give the DEMS a chance before you condem the U.S. to a terrible next 2 years. Just give them a chance for a while and maybe you will be suprised.

I don't know why I bother, everyone is one sided-one minded when it comes to politics and thinks their side is the best. I didn't agree with what the republicans did with the war and the attack on america, so I looked for answers somewhere else. If the dems screw it up, I will look somewhere else for answers. And what are we accomplishing over there anyway? If we couldn't get the job done by now what makes you think it will ever get done the way things are going? Just some food for thought.

XiBowhunter, don't worry about convincing people like maxcam. He is not going agree with anything but his own opinion. Him calling people communists just because they disagree with him is going a bit far, even for this forum. His "Hanoi Jane" comments made me start cussing. I'm just going to put him on ignore. (guess you could say that is my personal ban list)

Dont get pissed at me gwillikerz.....Im not the one that gave aide and comfort to the enemy! Communist? those are your words not mine!
Xi... What would you consider to be a success in Iraq? What are your opinions on the latest statements coming from Al Qeda with respect to the US ? Who do you think is going to step up inside the Democratic party and accomplish what you think needs to be accomplished?
Answer those questions and Ill happily listen to what it is your so upset with George Bush for.....Until then remember....There are 140,000 Americans in Iraq that are now facing an enemy that have been emboldened by our recent elections.... Now those that you voted for want to pull out and leave with out accomplishing what was set out to accomplished......Democracy will not survive after we leave and the 2900 men and women that have died and the nearly 25,000 that have spilled their blood will have done so for not a damn thing!

Don't talk to us about 2900 lost lives, that was Bush. If you can't see this is going to be another vietnam then take the party blinders off. As far as "Democracy will not survive" do you mean here or there. Democracy has never existed in Iraq and I for one feel it is not honoring those brave men who have died by watching even more die.
