i happened to be in the frankfort area and saw a gun/bow shop "Mikes Guns"
and i stopped in ..as i watched, the owner took time to spend with each customer including myself...this guy really left me with a great impression
have many other forum members had the same results with him?
i will be a repeat customer ...so a HUGE thumbs up for you guys in that area

Where is he located? I come thru there once a week but am not very familiar with Frankfort. I come down 127 from Owenton, then go around the bypass to the Interstate and head toward Lex.. Rick

Rick
i also came from owenton way..(perry park)
i can put you in the general area and i am sure other can give more precise directions....
from 127 when you get to the intersection of 421 turn right and head towards frankfort i went thru 4 stop lights and crossed the river and turned right went to the top of a hill and came to a BP gas station..he is like right around the corner from there...if worse comes to worse stop at thge BP and ask for directions but you'll be impressed with the service and selections
I like Mike's also. It's better than any place in Lexington that's for sure.
He can get busy from time to time and it can be hard to get help as you would expect BUT that's a good thing. I'd be suspicious if there were no customers in there. He does good business and there's a reason for that. It's nice to go to a place where people actually know what they are talking about behind the counter and not some 17 yr old Rambo wannabe that owns survival knife and a .22.

I have only been in there once back in Sept., did'nt look at the guns but did buy some broadheads, I talked to the archery guy for a good 20 minutes he was really good to talk too, very friendly.

Mike has a great business he knows his stuff and can set up a bow. He has some of the best prices you will find. If you watch Ky Afield you have probalbly seen him. They did a segment on there that had mike working on Tim Farmers bow.

I haven't been to Mike's but I will make the stop one day. I'd rather pay an extra few bucks over Wally World prices and get to deal with someone that actually knows more than I do and doesn't try to blow smoke to cover up their ignorance. Mike's sounds like the place for me.
The 17 year old with the Rambo complex is the biggest turn-off I can imagine. If I'm looking at a bird gun and the pimply sales clerk turns the discussion to home defense, I get leery and go elsewhere.

I bought a Steyr from Mike about 5 or 6 years ago. The guy went out of his way to track down the exact gun I wanted, mounted and bore sighted the scope and held it late for me so i could drive from Lexington to pick it up. The only problem is the smoke in his store! But don't misunderstand me--I just don't like the smoke but it's his store, his private business and his way! I'll buy another gun from him any day of the week!
