I was thinking about getting a handgun like that. Does anyone know anything about them, how they shoot.

Elmer, I'm a little late replying but have shot the XD 9 and the .40 and was pleased with both. Keep in mind, these are "combat" type pistols so they won't punch holes, but that goes with the territory. Both functioned well with the different loads I tried. If I were in the market for a combat pistol, the XD's would be on the list.

I have the XD, Glock and now the S&W M&P. All shoot very well. Right now the best deal is the M&P. Buds Gunshop had them for $369 a few weeks ago and I picked one up. The XD is also a fine gun, I like the 9mm version myself.
