Big Nasty

Just a quick message to say thanks to everybody that participated in my elk hunt on 10/7 and 10/8. I've was without internet last week and have been extremely busy this week, been wanting to post my story but no time. Will try and do that soon.
First thanks to Sam Taylor, aka Screamin6x6 on this board. Without Sam I have no idea what would have happened. May have been eating tag-soup as we speak. If I did manage to tag out I doubt I would have had the hunting experience that I did, not to mention the exceptional bull I was fortunate enough to harvest. I got to see around 8-10 bulls, dozens of cows, and heard bugling like crazy. Not to mention the georgeous scenery. Had 2 opportunities at the current state record and ultimately took a trophy class bull. At the time the biologist measured it, he was the current and very unnoficial #3 in the state. As MCDENNEY mentioned, Sam is a hunting/guiding machine and absolutely does not stop until your tag is on some horns. Sam, your were right. When the 3D gear goes on, something dies! Thank you sir, I would have been lost without your expertise.
Also thanks to my brother Tony and buddy Bruttus for being there. This hunt would not have meant as much to me if I weren't able to share it with people I care about. It means a lot to me that you guys were there, not to mention the help you gave me in the field.
Thanks to Donny Combs, one of my guides. Donny knows his stuff, put me on a huge bull Saturday morning (the new state record) but he was just out of my range. Thanks to Marty Denney, aka MCDENNEY. Marty helped out my hunt Sunday morning, and again we were on the new state record. All I needed the bull to do was turn broadside, and he would have been down. Marty is one of the best hunters I've ever been around, and worked his tail off all morning trying to get me a bull. Marty, that was one heck of a hunt we had, thanks for your efforts.
Thanks to Sam's wife Jennifer and all the good folks in Wayland, Ky who helped out and showed us a tremendous amount of hospitality. These guys were there within an hour in the middle of nowhere to help get my bull off the mountain. It's encouraging to know that there are good people like this still around. Also, thanks to my wife for letting me get by with all of my hunting shenanigans! :D
