I have been hunting for 3 years using a borrowed Ruger M77 30-06..deciding if I would like this sport..Shoot my first Doe last year and I'm hooked...Going to buy my first rifle and I like what I see and read about the Benelli R1 30-06...Alot of money, but appears to be a great rifle...What's your opinion..Should I buy it or what 30-06 would you recommend??? Price is not a concern, I want a quality rifle.

That's easy! Forget the benelli unless you need a shotgun, the best autoloader is the Browning BAR. The one I have is a little heavier than my MK77 30-06, but I grab the BAR now. I love having another round ready to fire without taking my eye off the target. It shoots incredible groups and has been alot of fun to shoot with out alot of recoil.:D

Save the money and buy a good cheaper gun. Kill just as many deer, experience minimal problems, and have some extra money to give to someone who needs it or buy tree stand or something.
My only advice is to put more money in your scope than your gun. You won't regret it.
