View Full Version : Question
I've got a question for you string yankers. I've been out of bow hunting for about 10 years now. I got my old Martin Lynx Magnum out last weekend and shoot it some for the first time in about 5 years. The question is, "what's the differance in a 2216 & a 2219 XX75 arrow"?
Is Martin still around? I've not heard anything about them in years.
Actually I had fun shooting again, hope to start doing it some more.

GSP...
As far as your shafts...A 2216 is lighter and has a thinner wall than a 2219. A 2219 is heavier and has a thicker wall than a 2216. This makes the 2219 harder to bend. A 2219 can be to your disadvantage if you shoot a lighter poundage because you won't get the speed as you would with a 2216. I would prefer a 2219 if you shoot over 60 pounds and would stick with the 2216 for lesser poundage. In addition, I have found a bigger shaft like these shoot better with the a full left helical fletching style.
Just my opinion.

Thanks 45,
Now I have another question, does a full left helical fletching cause the arrow to fly clock wise or counter-clock wise. Mine have helical fletching, but I don't know if you judge from looking at the nock end or the tip end. Sorry to seem so ignorant, it's been a long time.
]BTW, I can still hit a Skoal can at 20 yards though!!! I was happy.[<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Counter clock I think. I haven't shot helical in years though. I'm glad to hear you can still hit a Skoal can. Just goes to show you haven't lost it!!! Welcome back to the world of the "string yankers'!!!.....Rick.

I'll try this, Martin is still very much in the business. They still have several shooters around the country my buddy at www.huntersfriend.com is still selling several Martins each year.
Thanks for the info guys. It has been a long time since I've been a bow shooter. I am going to try getting back into it if my back allows it.
Highbow, I went to your buddies site. It don't look like bow prices have gone up that much in the years.
Hey Xtreme, why I was shooting at a Skoal can was because when I was growing up, me and my buddies used to shoot almost every day at Skoal cans for $1 a shot at 20 yards (you miss and someone hits, they get your $1). That will tighten your group up quicker than anything.
Thanks again guys.

Try Mike's Gun Shop in Frankfort. You will find Martin is alive and well and VERY affordable.
