I don't know about endorsements, but maybe some backstrap. I don't think most realize how much time you guys gave up to help. Thats one reason I didn't help anyone. It's quite a task to give up a couple of weekends and several evenings to find someone a good bull. Sure anyone good put them on elk, but these bulls were nice, and I know what it takes to do the leg work to locate where they're running at.

Sam, I thought you were on the Browning payroll there for a minute with all that Browning stuff on, lookin good!

Also CM12, you are right on. Sam put in a lot of time to help get these boys permission and get several good bulls nailed down. I can tell you that no one I know works any harder than Sam does when it comes to locating elk. He is a machine. I'm not sure what all he spends each year in doing this but gasoline alone wouldn't be cheap and the fact that he does all this (so far) for free is truly a testament to his character. Most people would not make the sacrifices that he does to ensure the success that the hunter takes advantage of. I know I was one of those lucky hunters and I am very thankful that I met someone like Sam to help me. I will always remember when I asked Sam what did he want from me in return for helping me with my elk hunt last year, you know what he said? He said "Marty, I just want you to do this for someone else in return". He is truly an amazing individual with a big heart. I better quit before you guys get all soft on me....lol.

As for the hunter orange, most definitely YES!!!!! I am especially thankful that we were wearing it on Sunday morning when the "new pending state record elk" was taken because we were in line with his shot just a hair above the elk. Talk about being in the wrong spot at the wrong time, whew!!!! On a lighter side, I told the group of hunters, callers and helpers one time that we look like a bunch of Tennessee football fans. Most of them took offense to that since we were in BIG BLUE country but it was comical none the less.

Marty, with what you did this year, I'd say you've paid in full. An yes, I thought I was looking pretty good as well.(Note my good church pants on under the leafy wear)LOL. With all seriousness though, this was a great bull for a great guy. Scott probably had about the biggest emotional roller coaster of a hunt that I've ever seen. With setback after setback, he never let his head down. Alot of guys would have just gone home after some of the crap that happened to him, but he kept at it and he shows what happens if you'll just hang in there. Congrats buddy, I'm very happy for you.You deserved it.

You know it's funny the wildlife officers don't wear orange. I could understand if they were watching someone.
