During the PRN's "Fast Talk with Benny Parsons" radio show Monday night car owner Richard Childress commented briefly on rumors that GM Goodwrench would not be back to sponsor Kevin Harvick's Chevy in 2007. "There's always rumors out there swinging around. We're talking about 'em right now...we're looking at what we're going to do next year and right now our plans are Goodwrench and Hershey for next year but who knows what can happen in the sport...things change."(9-19-2006)
UPDATE: hearing the new co-primary sponsor for the #29 RCR Chevy will be Shell Oil, no idea how many races. Hershey's/Reese's will return in 2007, supposedly in a simliar number of races as 2006.(10-5-2006)
ALSO: Ken Schrader will split his ride in the 21 car next year with Jon Wood, son of the car owner.
AND:
Camo for Stremme at Talladega: Coors Light and Coors have partnered in 2006 to target their hunting consumers by leveraging Bill Jordan's Advantage Max-1 and Advantage Max-4patterns on product packaging and point of sale items. Look for these items to feature the patterns in a store near you: Coors Light 6-pack 16 oz. cans, Coors Light Big 18, and Coors 6-pack 16 oz cans. To further leverage the unique camouflage can, Coors Light will take the packaging to the track! The Coors Light #40 Dodge of David Stremme will be wrapped in the same pattern as the can for this weekend's race at Talladega Superspeedway.

I agree he could never be the old man, but Harvick is one hell of a driver. I hope he can get it all together and win em both this year. Imagine the presseure he has been and still is under by everyone. To drop into the seat of a racing god it would be too much for most anyone. He has lost the temper for the most part nad is driving the wheels off his car RCR is back, and it about damn time.

Harvick has indeed been under the microscope since taking over, and I think between RCR's slump and the pressure, he is just now reaching his potential. It would be a feat if he won them both this year, quite an accomplishment.
On a side note, I still think Harvick has given us some of the best sound bites in years. The interview earlier this year about Kurt Busch was one of the funniest things I have seen in years.
"Yeah, I probably shouldn't have said that either" :):)

"Yeah, I probably shouldn't have said that either" :):)harvick has a good shot at winning them both.but if his team mate burten keeps plucking away with top 5 finishs i think he will win it.this weekend will be juniors chance at gaining alot of points.if he dont i think it will be between harvick-burten or martin as to who wins the cup this yr.i would like to see harvick take both championships.

I know Martin is a fan favorite, but I don't want to see him win it. If you win the cup without winning a race, something is severely wrong. Every other race in the chase, at some point you said to yourself, "you have to like so and so's chances this weekend" Or "so and so has been on a tear or is hot".
Not once did I ever feel Martin was a threat to win, yes, get a top 10, but win, no. Plus, I am tired of his Retired, unretired, retired, change teams, change series, change teams, retire and change teams.
Actually, I dont' care to see Gordon, Kenseth or Martin win, anyone else, I don't care. Burton would be a feel good story, and Martin would be good for the fans, obviously Jr needs one to quiet the critics, but RCR is looking strong, it will be hard to pry it away from those 2 in the end.

HAHA...yeah. You got it.
Can't wait for Dega this weekend, Martin hates the Plate tracks, he is always taken out by "The Big One".

Even though I have fallen from the inner circle of NASCAR, I too feel that the Goodwrench era ended with Dale Sr. I was not a huge fan of his, but I gotta hand to the guy. He was the best in the sport. The names Goodwrench and Dale Sr. just go hand in hand. While I do believe that Harvick is a great young driver, he can never do what Sr. did for the Goowrench name. Just my $.02.
