Two men died in the water here yesterday and last night. One 65 year olds truck rolled back in the water at Warix Run boat ramp at Cave Run. The other a trucker ran into the Licking river, WKYT says they are still looking for him.
I mention this story because of descrepency in reporting. I have a map of the Licking river and in it's 174.6 miles from Cave Run to the Ohio there is no hole of water deeper than 21 ft. The river is running at approx. 2-3 ft. high due to recent rains. At the bridge where the trucker ran off is a deep riffle, no deeper than 2-3 ft., Just past there for 1/4 mile it's not over 6-8 ft. deep. I have fished that area hundreds of times with a depth/fish finder many times, and have seen the bottom many times. The news is reporting the water is 30 ft. deep!
Anyway, someone always leaves 2-4 trot lines in the water there and there is a large log pile in the next bend.I would check the trot lines, and the log pile. If they have'nt found him by the time I get off I think I will take my electronics (underwater camera, and fish finder) and give them a hand.
