Hey guys I'm looking a purchasing a new gun safe. So far I have looked at Heritage and Liberty brands. Just wondering what everyone else either has or recommends. I want a quality safe that has a lifetime warrenty. Thanks to all in advance.
I bought a Remington at BPS several years ago. It has the capacity to hold 12 or 27 long guns with a rating of 1200 degrees for 25 minutes. I love the safe, but if I had it to do over, I would have gotten a size bigger with the eletronic keypad instead of the dial combination.

Next time I buy a safe Im just going to go ahead and dig a whole on the other side of the basement wall and pour a vault....Cut out the door way and install a door......As soon as I get a safe the next thing I start buying are expensive trinkets to fill it with!

Also check out the CANNON safes, they are very nice. I bought my Cannon safe from Fayette Firearms in Lexington and had Bud's Gun Shop Deliver it into my basement. Bud's guys have the nice mechanical dolly that walks down stairs.
GO BIGGER than what you think you will need. A scoped rifle will take up 2 slots in many cases. So if you have 10 guns you may need a 20 gun or bigger safe.

I just bought a Redhead from BPS. It's the 12/24 gun. It has the push button feature. and an ivory interior rated for 1200 degrees. They had a 6 months same as cash.

I looked at every kind I could find and went with a Fort Knox. It looked like the obvious choice to me. Just buy the biggest you can fit in the house because you'll put stuff in it you never thought of and a good safe will never wear out so being to small would be the only reason for replacing it.

whatever you get be sure it's fireproof,i've seen some in houses that have had fire and the guns were unharmed, also make them deliver i helped my neighbeor move one with a dolly that a local vendor friend of uses to move pop machines and it was still a chore.

Unfortunately, most of what you guys have mentioned are RSC, Residential Security Containers. You really need to check into a "safe" if you want to protect your valuables.
Graffunder and AmSec are said to be good brands. AmSec has a few levels as does Graffunder (sp?) I believe Brown is another good one.
Options to consider:
Some, including Cannon and Ft Knox, use a false fire rating. It may say 45 minutes at 1200 degrees. What they actually do is put it in an oven and start the time at the same time they start the heat. Hell, it may take 45 minutes to get to 1200 degrees.
Check the UL listing, several different ratings, including RSC. I believe the ratings are based on how long it takes a "criminal" to get in
Check the insulation material. I believe Graffunder and/or AmSec use concrete, Cannon and Ft Knox use gypsum, i believe.
Certainly more to consider. Just some food for thought. I will not be putting $10K worth of guns in a $1200 safe. I think a decent sized Graffunder is roughly $4000. If anybody is interested, my buddy has more info on the Graffunders. He is most likely purchasing one soon.
