We have a 24 foot camper we bought used for deer camp. I also have a 5500 watt generator and was trying to give some juice to the camper. Problem is the Camper has this dryer cord plug looking connector and my generator uses the standard 110 outlets.
What type of connector is needed?????

Our camper had the standard 110 connector. Has someone made a changed the plug on your camper? You may be able to change the plug.

It is an older camper and my guess this plug is for campground hook ups or something. I went to Lowes to see if they had an adapter and nothing was close.
Go to a camping or trailer place, they will have the adapters.

The plug on your camper is probably the one that belongs on it. It's a 30 amp (I think) 120v RV plug. Cabin cruisers also use the same type plug for shore power. Adapters are available from RV dealers.
The problem with those adapters is that it reduces the total current you can provide to your camper. If you use one, see what its current rating is. Since your generator is capable of providing about 45 amps, if you put too much of a load on the adapter you may melt it.
If the outlets on your generator are removable (like a household receptacle/box configuration), you might want to see if you can find a female outlet that matches the RV outlet and wiring it in place of the standard outlet on the generator.

Thanks for the help. You wouldn't believe, but I found a converter plug in the camping section at Wal-mart for $5. Hopefully it will work.
