I had a '77 almost identical - cept paint. mine was blue. That thing would climb any hill around, problem was coming down! The choke would get stuck and flood it out. A few love taps with a hammer and it would fire up after 20 minutes or so.................................... I still loved that old cherokee!

Great woods truck, they are a tank without the lift. I have never seen what they can do with one:D you will love that old jeep. did you do the leaf over while you were under there?

35's would have rubbed the fenders bad offroad unless you got your SAWZALL after them. Better off with the 33's plus no gearing changes. :D Nice looking ride you got. My uncle had one that went over 350,000 miles back and forth to Colorado/Kansas every hunting season for a longtime before he passed it on.

No I didnt do a leaf over, I would have had to change a lot of the steering componets, so I did add a leafs, body lift, and went up about 6" in tire size. I havent had the time to go 4 wheelin yet, but im gonna! Everyone has told me that they are some going machines, so im going to try her out!

I have had a few and it pretty much takes a big rock or tree to stop them:D The J20 trucks are tanks too, but they are a rough ride. I haven't ever had my commando off road as I am too afraid to ding her up. Would not make much of a trail rig with the Dana 18 in it anyhow and some of them you just have to keep stock:rolleyes:

I wish I knew where this thing has been for the past 30 something years, cause it was a good place:D Let me know the next time you have smokey at Salato and I will bring it out for you to see!
