Last I heard they were bringing $5 a pelt but last week I heard of a guy giving $15 dollars a pelt so I don't know for sure. I hunt them alot but I don't skin them.

Last time I sold any furs it was MuskRats...about 23yrs ago. I got 8 dollars a hide and had to send them to New York.

I'd be interested also in seeing what they are worth now...

I love the streams and mountains of Eastern Ky where I was raised.

Fur, Fish & Game is guessing coons around here to top at between $10 & $14 fo heavy pelts. Coat types $7 & $8 for the better ones.
$2-3 for a wessal. Possums, worthless.
They are saying yotes should be up, catch all you can. $30?

Fox $15- $25 Red to Grey.
There ain't been money in the sport for 25 years. A labor of love it is.

i can remeber the mid 70s when you could get 80 for a red fox and 50 for a grey..i just got a caller and a mosseberg ss1 in a 22-250..put a 6x24 simons scope on it...thought i might coyote hunt with it..if i can find some one close who will buy them without me having to skins i may load up on some 40 grain v-max ammo traveling 4150 fps..so there would be no exit hole....not sure how they would do on a fox..or bobcat...

You hit any bone with the V-Max and you get an exit hole. They often look more like a grenade hit them.

Hide hunters use the solids. Tiny hole but backstop is a consideration.

i wont shoot game with a fmj...it is cruel to he animal...if they are not head shot the suffer awhile..raher leave a hole in the hide...

Depends on your shot placement. A solid through the heart isn't cruel. A soft point through the intestines will take longer to recover the animal. Stick with V-Max's if you want dramatic stops. Sometimes a yote will be in two pieces.

I only skin their heads and make a skull mount. Some call it a European or Texas mount. They look pretty awesome on a good plaque with their teeth shining. pretty awesome looking. Got some deer that way too. They really look good when done right.
