Has anybody used a Bushnell Holosight or any such sighting system on a deer rifle?

What are the disadvantages in using such?

I have a holosight on my AR15, not sure I would use it on a deer rifle since you don't typically get any magnification. Shotgun might be better.

I can hit a bowling pin at 100 yards with the halo with no problem, but would rather have a 3x9x40 scope on a deer rifle.

No magnification for one. Might be good if you shoot them on the run?
