I'm tryin to help a freind find out information on a ww2 pistol anyone out there really know their german history. I have a 7.65 kal model 27 mauser. the holster has a name stamped on it possibly a german officers name so I need any information that I can find or find someone that does know please help if you can.

There was no Mauser pistol Model 27. I believe you have a Czech Model 27, which the Germans called the P.27(t). The Czechs first made the gun as the Model 24 in .380 with a turning barrel locking system. Then they simplified it to a straight blowback in .32 ACP (7.65mm Short) and that is the pistol that was made in large quantities after the Germans took over Czechoslovakia.

Pre-war guns were marked CESKA and are the most valuable with top condition going over $500.

Guns produced under the Nazis were marked "Bohmische Waffenfabrik" (Bohemian Arms Factory) or "fnh", the code for the same plant.

There is some variation in price, with some dates bringing more. Prices for the "fnh" marking run around $300 in 100%, down to $100 or so. Dated "Bohnische" 1941-1943 pistols bring as much as twice that. Guns with German Navy markings can bring 3 times that.
