My wife has just got me a rem. 7mm, kicks like a mule too. I was trying to find out what is a good range to set the scope for, and also a range that the gun will shot (distance). It is a rem model 710

first thing i would do is put a sims recoil pad on it,and then i would site it in at 100 yards.
them sims recoils pads help alot,i have had them on a few rifles and it makes a world of difference..
hope this helps, cause i know it will help your broken shoulder...lol:)Number Cartridge Type Weight (grs.) Bullet Style Primer No. Ballistic Coefficient

Ah, C'mon, it's from the wife. She didn't know. Take it, use it, brag on it, make the best of it. If my wife bought me even a sling shot, I'd be stunned.

Amen, if your wife buys you a gun you should make it your favorite.

I know the feeling. My wife bought me a deer stand last year. I almost died.:D

What's so bad about a 710?

We've had some threads on here before about them. They are ugly, cheap, and the barrel is press-fitted into the acton; no threads.

But they go bang, kill deer, and are affordable. For the vast majority of us, they will do the job well. I personally like purty walnut and deep blue steel, but that doesn't kill deer.

To each his own.

I think the 710 is a good gun if you appreciate it for what it is.

It's meant to be an inexpensive, throw it in the truck and who cares if it get scratched deer gun.

When a person realizes that's what it's meant to be, it's a good gun for that role.
