Fellow sportsmen,
:
The 8th Draft of the proposed Animal Ordinance complete with regulations of severe consequence to hunters, Breed Specific Language, exorbitant license fees and other burdensome provisions too numerous to go into, will be presented to the Government & Administration Committee this coming Monday.
The League of Kentucky Sportsmen and others have been working non stop preparing a substitute ordinance and arguments to convince the committee not to accept the 8th Draft proposal.
We need EVERYONE who can possibly attend to be there at this and subsequent Gov & Adm meetings when this draft is discussed.
It is critical that we show the Louisville Metro Council that we represent the majority of folks in the community. A lack of people at this meeting could be interpreted by members of the committee as a lack of interest in this issue.
It is also our understanding that the issue will be tabled for further discussion at which time representatives from sporting community etc. will be allotted a short time to speak to concerns, before the committee makes their decision. The committee has the authority to accept the proposed ordinance, reject it, amend it or accept a substitution. HOWEVER, you know politics. What is our understanding and what may in reality take place could be two different things.
For this reason, I am asking you to please attend this meeting on Monday if at all possible. Invite your family, friends and co-workers to attend. Please forward to everyone who owns a pet in your email address book.
Here is the information.
