Will the Encore Pistol Barrels fit on a Encore Rifle frame...more or less, is the rifle and pistol frame the same thing? If so, where's the best place to buy Encore barrels, I'm specifically looking for a stainless 15" pistol barrel in .30-06, kind of hard to find.

Thanks

Yes, they will fit. Federal law dictates what combo of barrel-stock configuration you can use.

In other words, you also have to buy a pistol grip and a forearm for the 15" barrel to legally use it.

As for best deals, try Uncle Lee's or your local dealer. You can buy barrels off of ebay as the frame is the part that is regulated by the ATF.

Thanks. I checked Uncle Lee's, like most places they have to order it. Looks like www.midsouthshooterssupply.com has a decent supply. I'll look around on E-bay and see what I can find. The big issue is SST in .30-06...I can find many other calibers, just not that one. Yeah, I planned on the pistol grip and forearm...but I really never thought about a 15" carbine version...hmmm...

What about the Pro Hunter Barrels...will they fit the regular Encore Frame or do you have to buy a Pro Hunter frame now?

Also check out www.budsgunshop.com (http://www.budsgunshop.com) the last time I was in his shop in Paris, KY he had several Barrels in stock.

Also have seen several barrels at Gilbert Guns in Frankfort, KY

I believe what multi is saying is it would be illegal to have a rifle stock on the 15" barrel version. I "think" the minimum barrell length on a long gun is 16".

Yep...I knew it was around that length, I was actually thinking 18"... I believe he was mainly pointing out that T/C was marketing the Pistol Frame as such with the grips and forearm to qualify as a pistol...and the barrels to be legally on the market...

Check out that buds gun shop...some of the best prices I've seen...not only on the encore, but many of the guns...the S&W 460 is $859...at least $100 less than I've seen it anywhere else...at least in TN...
