I've just acquired a 30-30, so none with that yet. My deer harvester until now has been a smooth bore Mossberg 500. I'm looking forward to trying out the rifle.:)

(4) 7 X 57 m/m (made longest shot with this caliber: 400 yards)

Mine would have to be the 30-06. I had a Savage 110 in 30-06 that I used for 7 seasons, which accounted for 2 deer every season. For the past several years I've been more of an experimentor and have been into trying out different cartridges for deer, everything from a 223 (no flames please, it worked) to a 450 Marlin and various magnums.

I've taken the most of my deer with a .270 win. model 700. Second place is 30/30 marlin and some with a .44 carbine. It depends on the terrain I'm hunting, but I intend to use the 30/30 more this year in the closer stuff. Gotta love the way the .270 pushes the button at over 200 yards when needed though!

I've killed more deer with a Remington model 788 in .243 than any other. I had a couple choices, but thats the one I chose to hunt with

Marlin 30-30, and with the new Hornady rounds for lever action guns, I see no reason to upgrade to a longer shooting gun.

Hard to say, since I haven't kept that kind of record. It would be close between my 25-06 and my 30-06. The old smokepole has accounted for quite a few as well.
