How about a european Turkey mount!!!! A friend with a beetle colony did this for me. There are a few pellet holes and even one pellet still lodged in the base of the skull. It's a pretty cool conversation piece to say the least. I'm gonna mount it in a glass case so it can be viewed from all angles. My friend is a biology professor and his hobby is building the skeletons. He's suppose to send pics of a full body hen he did. He's done some large animals including a 7 foot croc. He's got some real neat skeletons and I couldn't resist being the first on the block with a european turkey mount!

That is cool. I wonder if he could fasten it to the tail fan for a serious wall mount and some color contrast ?

I haven't shared this one with the wife! I'm a little concerned she may not like the location I have picked out on the bedroom night stand! Oh well, guess this one will have to go in the living room with the other dead animals. Maybe I'll put it on the end table next to Fred (the coyote rug).

I never knew that they had turkeys in the old country. I thought thats why they came here was so they could hunt them. Well I think the french came to breed the wild coons thats why they got mask now.

I think it is rather cool looking to be honest.....How long did it take for the beetles to do their thing?

not more than 2 or 3 days I think. You skin it out, remove some meat by hand then air dry it in front of a fan for 2 days. then put it in and htey go to work!

That is a cool! If I ever get another one, I will have to do the same. In glass, it would make a great bedside lamp.

I think it's spelled Dermisted beetles. They are native to all the US, nad most taxidermist use them to clean european mounts.

That looks awesome. I think one of those would look pretty cool in my apartment here at college.
