I just got off the phone with the QDMA's personelle. The short course has been canceled. The speaker from the KDFWR was unable to attend this event that they had lined up with QDMA, and their back-up speaker was late in returning calls. Seems as if they were attempting to put this together on the fly while putting on short course across the Southeast and were unable to pull it off.
From what I am reading here, QDMA is growing rapidly and experiencing some growing pains. No problem, redirect and persivere.
Good News. They want to put together an organizational meeting somewhere central in the state. Their director of branch activities will attend, and fill us all in on what the QDMA is all about, and assist us in moving forward. They are looking for September to form this meeting.
They are just now beginning to put together state chapters, much in the same structure of the NWTF. If it ain't broke I guess. In states where there is no branch, the first branch formed will become the state chapter as other branches open up.
What we need to do here is get together all the folks whom wish to partake in a leadership position to attend this meeting, and if unable send someone in proxy.
It seems they are willing to ride the horse in the direction it is going and were happy to hear that we are looking at the districts within the state for formation purposes.
So let's hear it. Who wants in? Please post up a date in September please or email me directly via my profile. I know it will be bow season, so a night during the week will be best I am sure, or possibly a Friday evening. I will communicate our wishes with QDMA and make sure that this meeting becomes a reality. You have my word.
