I've never played with the 307 and I've never even seen a moose, but looking at the ballistics tells me that it's a bit underpowered. The 307 was made to be a slightly hotter version of the old 30-30. The 307 is a rimmed 308 Win cartridge, but the similarity ends there.
The 307 is a fine whitetail round in a fine lever action, but it sadly is on its way out. Not too many stores carry the ammo today. It was a good idea that didn't catch on.

I personally owned a "Big Bore" 94 AE XTR in .307 Win. and it was a far cry stiffer than a .30/30. That particular cartridge is a far cry hotter than the "old standard" in the 94's. I used one to hog hunt in Georgia when I was in the military. You can load a .307 off of .308 dies, as I "rolled my own" and still do. The .307 is more akin to the .308 than the .30/30, and yes.....with the right load it'll take moose. Made short work outta the "tuskers" I shot with mine!

I have the winchester 94AE in 356, which is a necked down 358. this round would be a good round for moose.
