Yep! They will gobble year round. Not like in the spring but they can get pretty vocal at times.

I heard two different turkeys gobble one morning while on a quota deer hunt. It was the first weekend in Nov. a couple years ago. I thought that I was hearing things when I heard the first one, and then the second one gobbled a few minutes later.

They usually start around here in late Feb., early March, though it's hit & miss for several weeks.
Have heard them in October & November, but in all those cases it was shock gobbling at thunder.

Last deer season I heard them several different days of the season. I heard one gobble 47 times one foggy September morning.

Just outta curiosity, has anyone seen gobblers strut during fall/winter? I've never seen that one.

Yep, the last weekend of gun season in zone 1 last year. Webster County on Deer Creek outfitters I saw a tom strut for about 2 to 3 minutes. I was pretty shocked. Also in Nebraska last October while fall turkey hunting I saw several strut. It's a dominance thing I suppose.

I saw two gobblers struting over several inches of snow a couple years ago.

Dominance thing sounds like a good theory. Or it could be yearning for spring...

I was bow hunting deer in late October 2 yrs. ago and started hearing birds gobbling at one another several times, like they were calling to each other to locate the other ,I slipped up close enough to see what was happening, they had split up and got back together like quail do,the gobbling wasn`t very loud, lost call I guess, there were about 9gobblers when they bunched up...

I've heard good gobbling the last 3 days I hunted. I don't know why, but like hearing it. Plenty of tree yelps from the hens too. Turkeys are just about thick where I'm hunting.
