I have never fished the cumberland for trout but would like too in the near future. Can you wade fish the cumberland in spots or is it too deep to wade?
Thanks!

I have fished for trout in the spillway at cumberland. Although we fished from a boat I saw several people on the bank and wading as far as they could. There is a creek that comes out just below the boat ramp people have really good luck there. Watch for when the generating times are.

I fish there with Xcutter also, and it is great for trout fishing down there. There was a state record trout caught down there the year before last right by the camp area. We was fishing for stripers and was catching trout on lures 4 in long. There are a bunch of trout down there.

Oh ya have you some insulated waders because that water is COLD and, it is coming form the main lake over 200 ft. deep and it is COLD.

It's pretty tough trying to fish the Cumberland Tailwaters from the bank. Better opt for the insulated waders or try my favorite method the trusty old canoe. And after my sons turned me upside down last year I can testify to the coooooooold !!!!!!!!
