As 4 myself, when i started hunting turkeys(1990) i cutt-n-run, called alot, repositioned all the time and was just generally an impatient hunter. But after 14 spring seasons i find that as the years go by that i have become far more patient, call way less and don't do nearly the movin around. How about you?
what u get out, is what u put in

I agree. I think that it was spring of 1995 that I started hunting. I know that I call less but I will still move alot depending on what the birds are doing. I do think that I get more addicted to turkey hunting each year.

I don't know that my style of hunting has changed much, but my calling sure has. I use my friction calls a whole lot more today than I used to. I also realize the world won't end if I sleep in on those stormy mornings![;)]
I haven't changed at all but everything else has! I started back in the 70's where the only turkeys that could be found were at LBL and they were few and far between. Our description of a successful hunt was just hearing a gobble. I called up a couple of gobblers one morning, only to have them spooked by a deer, with an old Burnham Brothers box call that I still use today. I have to commend everyone involved in the reintroduction of this fine bird for they have done a wonderful job!

I always have, and will continue to do whatever it takes to "play the game".

I'm right there with ya' turk2di. I've slowed things down quite a bit when working a bird. Have taken the attitude that I can wait just as long as that old bird wants to take.
