In case you haven't heard about Kinky Friedman's campaign for Governor of Texas. Gatewood on steroids. Ventura supersized Schwarznegger squared.

Would it be that our politics occasionally had this kind of sense of humor.

If you can find a Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys album , it's definitely worth a listen. Some of the songs are hilarious, and the band (which is Texas Swing), really gets after it.

A CD came out a couple of years ago that is a Kinky tribute album. Guys like Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett on it.

His detective novels are also a scream.

Kinky is DEFINITELY NOT Gatewood.

I saw an interview with him on Hannity and Colmes and he actually seemed to be very down to earth and had some good ideas. I think they had him on there as a joke and were expecting to make him look stupid and in the end I think they really liked him and were impressed with his knowledge.
