Just out of curiosity, do you think that if you were to set up on a gobbling bird this late, would it be extremely easy to call him in, about the same, or much more difficult? With consideration given to the fact that all the hens have been bred, zero hunting pressure, etc.

Might work, depends. I saw gobblings 3 days ago with hens in full strut. Look like a rerun of a month earlier. I'd say if you could call the hens over he would come, not sure if you could get him away from the hens though?

Season's out, doesn't mean you can't call to a turkey though, you just can't kill it.

I used to do that in my early years. When i was still full of piss & vinegar! It was in 90, Memorial weekend, and i called to a bird that was couple hundred yards. 5 minutes later he was within 15 yds. But im sure thier R older Toms that still wouldn't budge! Last season, went to H&H in Union co Memorial weekend, me & a buddy got set up on one that gobbled his fool head off, but wouldn't take one step in our direction. We just looked at each other & shook our heads! A great time to fool with a Tom, build some confidence( i think) and learn!

you can still call in birds just dont have any weapons..i do it often havent done it much this season...but it helps build your confidence...esp if you had a bird that out witted you all season you can turn the tables on him and get the last laugh...

It's a good time to video. An opportunity to experiment, get loud and aggressive.
