Just returned from winding up the Missouri turkey season. Two days, 2 birds. I had 1 5/8 spurs & 12" beard, the other had a 1 1/4 spur but one was broken, and an 11 inch beard. They have an amazing number of birds over there.

Congratulations on your Missouri toms. It's been several years but I used to go up NorthWest of Kirksville and hunt a WMA called Rebels Cove. It bordered the Iowa border and it was some of the best turkey hunting I have ever experienced anywhere on public ground. ;)

I hunt in south central. I've always heard that the best hunting is in the NW corner. What's funny is that there are hardly any birds in the bootheel.

NR is $145 for spring permit only -- 2 bird limit. I've been going over there for the past 5 years and see the same guy at the Walmart sporting goods counter every year. He always looks at me like I'm crazy and reminds me that I'm spending $145 for the last 2 days of season. But I've taken two birds per trip on 4 out of the 5 years (always hunt the final weekend -- it's a Mother's Day thing). I can't even do that in West KY!!!
