This is two years in a row of two minute gobblers. Long story short, I called in 4 long beards at first light for my son, but the dominate bird strutted in behind our set up and hung the 3 sub dominate birds up at 50 yards, my sons arms got tired and his sling started swaying a little. The 3 gobblers caught the movement and busted us. At 9:30am, this bird fired up on his own, we moved 1/2 mile into position. I called twice on a mouth diaphram, and this fellow came in on a dead run. It was perfect for my son, but he moved a little when this bird broke strut at 35 yards, it was partially my fault, I should have already let him bust it, but I like them close. I had no choice but to shoot myself. It was bittersweet as my son has never killed a turkey, but that is just the way things happen. He loved it, it was actually our first turkey while we were sitting side by side. It was 23 1/2 lbs, 10 inch beard, and 1 1/8 sharp spurs.

congrats, on a fine gobbler, nothing better than a father and son spending time together in the woods .
